(The Oriel Company) Amazon Music today announced that iconic band Weezer will headline a special NBA Playoffs edition of "Amazon Music presents: In the Paint." The performance will air on Sunday, May 11 following Prime Video's exclusive coverage of the Oklahoma City Thunder vs the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals and after NBA Nightcap, the NBA on Prime postgame show.
Filmed on the regulation LED half-court inside Prime Video's state-of-the-art NBA studio in Culver City, Weezer will perform a 45-minute set spanning their vast catalog of hits-marking the most expansive "In the Paint" installment to date.
The special Playoffs edition of "In the Paint" arrives as Weezer enters a new chapter. The band recently released "Shine Again," their first new music since 2022, marking a return to the signature fuzz-toned power-pop sound that has made them cornerstone of pop music. Produced by Kenny Beats, the track arrives ahead of a forthcoming new album-their first on Reprise/Warner Records-and a 32-city arena tour, Weezer: The Gathering, kicking off this fall.
An instantly recognizable cultural force spanning more than three decades, Weezer have sold over 35 million records worldwide, with songs from throughout their catalog continuing to go viral and resonate with fans across generations.
"In the Paint" brings basketball and music together by reimagining artists' most essential songs in a cinematic setting. Weezer's appearance follows standout "In the Paint" performances from Kehlani, TAEMIN, Clipse, Nas, YG, Charlie Puth, and BigXthaPlug.
The broadcast can be watched on May 11 on Prime Video, Twitch, and the Amazon Music app and here
