The Choir Announce Special One Off Reunion Show

Influential 1960s classic rock band The Choir have announced that they will be playing a special one-off reunion show to celebrate the release of "Artifact: The Unreleased Album".

The band will be reuniting on stage at the Beachland Ballroom in their hometown, Cleveland, Ohio on November 3rd. We were sent the following details about the new album.

This Omnivore release documents the sessions the band recorded in February 1969 at the legendary Cleveland Recording Company. Artifact: The Unreleased Album was engineered by Ken Hamann, who also engineered and produced many nationally charting hits of the era at that famed studio including the Outsiders' "Time Won't Let Me," the Human Beinz' "Nobody But Me," the Lemon Pipers' "Green Tambourine," the James Gang album Thirds, and seven albums featuring many hits by multiplatinum-selling artist Grand Funk Railroad.

Artifact: The Unreleased Album was mixed in 2017 by Tommy Allen, who also mixed last year's Pop Art Live, the critically acclaimed Omnivore release from power pop icons Raspberries, which documented that band's historic 2004 inaugural reunion concert. Artifact: The Unreleased Album was produced by The Choir, Tommy Allen and Brad Rosenberger, and features liner notes by Eric Carmen and Al Kaston, plus an extensive Choir "family tree."

According to Carmen, from the album's liner notes: "I went to see The Choir when I was 16, and immediately wanted to join their band. They were a great group that had many lives and many members. This album was made by one of the last and final versions of the band. This recently discovered recording is sure to rekindle fond memories for the many fans of The Choir, including myself. Give it a spin, and enjoy a special piece of Cleveland rock history."

Tickets for the show are available here.

(Clarion Call) This Wild Life (Kevin Jordan and Anthony Del Grosso) have just released a new track called "Hold You Here" with an accompanying music video directed by Spencer Baldwin.

We were sent these details: The clip for "Hold You Here" tells the story of a couple's spontaneous city hall wedding and casual backyard reception filled with friends & family sipping PBR out of champagne flutes, "The Macarena," and a small bit of crowd surfing, all of which reinforces the importance of holding onto those special relationships in one's life. The band said the following about the track:

"'Hold You Here' is lyrically about cherishing the perfect moments in an imperfect world. Prioritizing people over finances, seeking love over material possessions, and appreciating the cracks in our lives that allow the light to shine through." Watch the video here.

Singled Out: Thanks Brother's We Are Different

Irish duo Thanks Brother just released their debut single "We Are Different" and to celebrate we asked Roisin O to tell us the story behind the new track. Here is the story:

The single "We Are Different" came about last year when John Broe and I were writing for another project. We started writing these songs that really made sense to the both of us, and that's when we decided to start the duo that we are now calling Thanks Brother.

Ireland as a country had gone through a great shift as we reached our 20s. We were the first country to legislate for marriage equality by popular vote in a referendum. We both have friends who were directly affected by the vote, and the youth of Ireland felt a huge pride that we finally got to show the world that we are out from under the shadow of the Catholic Church and prove that we are leading the world in the march towards equality.

The single "We Are Different" isn't directly about that referendum. Instead, we wanted to write something that celebrated being different in any way, something that people who felt marginalized could listen to and realize they are better for it. Something that expresses our love and individuality and refuses to condemn any minority or majority, even those who would speak against us.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the duo right here!
