Madysin Hatter

.
Tea party anyone? No, that's the Mad Hatter, the fictional character from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Madysin Hatter, on the other hand, will invite you to a rock 'n' roll party and you won't have to fall down a rabbit hole to attend. There is a bit of a madness connection between Madysin and her fictional namesake though; the debut full-length Madysin Hatter album is called Lose Your Mind, and it is filled with songs that will be familiar to fans of Pat Benatar, Something especially noticeable on the cut "Gypsy Rock." The album's title cut, subtly changed to "Lose My Mind," is about a woman's response to an ex-lover who seeks to reconcile, with the answer to the plea being "I'd have to lose my mind!" Or is that the answer? Toward the end of the music video for the song Madysin is seen all wild-eyed in an insane asylum, indicating that she did indeed give in to the ex.

Madysin Hatter is a native of New Jersey and she's opened shows for the likes of Kix, Buckcherry, Winger, Faster Pussycat and Tom Keifer of Cinderella fame, and there is a brief clip circulating on line where Steven Tyler of Aerosmith gives her a joyous howl. A definite fan of doing it yourself, Madysin is currently managing every aspect of her career. She's old school in the studio too, preferring to work with analog equipment. She has previously released an EP called Pretty Little Fool as well as a couple of singles. A prolific songwriter, Madysin often writes songs for other artists as well.

With her long blonde hair and her contrasting black top hat, Madysin Hatter has a great stage presence to go along with her vocal talents. Fans in Southern California can find out for themselves when she appears at the Whisky A Go in Los Angeles on July 15. Likely they'll find the spectacle enough to make them, well, lose their minds.
