Jordan Okrend - Dance by the Riverside
While many of these songs find Okrend's strumming his acoustic guitar vigorously, as he does with "Dance by the Riverside," one called "Unity" is an entirely different vibe. Although it features acoustic guitar throughout, this track is far quieter and much more introspective. Without getting specific, Okrend sings about the dark clouds hovering over our contemporary world. Even so, he also sings about seeing a brighter day on the horizon within its lyric.
Okrend dreams of a world where all mankind can dance by the riverside together. But that's more of a tomorrow dream, rather than a today reality. One gets the sense Okrend will be singing his songs until this unifying dream comes true.
