Kid Cudi's Self-Directed 'The Frequency' Video Released

(Radio.com) Last week, Kid Cudi announced that he'd seek treatment for depression and suicidal urges, initiating a groundswell of support from fans and rap peers. While Cudi is off getting the help he needs, his team released a video for "The Frequency," which the rapper directed himself.

The dark, lush backdrops and female figures deliver a combination of the Garden of Eden and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil for a hectic, ominous effect.

"The Frequency" is the latest track from Cudi's delayed forthcoming album Passion, Pain & Demon Slaying, and its video captures all three emotions in the album title. If anything positive comes of the rapper's personal struggles, it's his ability to leverage dark and tortured feelings into resonant art. Check out the video here.
