Elayna is releasing her self-titled debut EP on Friday (Sept 16th) and to celebrate we asked her to tell us a little bit about the EP's lead single "Honey I Told You". Here is the story:
My producer for my EP, Patrick Park, and I had just started writing together, when he brought in this song he had started with me in mind. Instantly when I heard the melody of the verse I was hooked!
We worked on it and I'll admit, even when it was done I wasn't sure how it would go over, but its been a real favorite whenever I sing it live--which is exciting!
I think what is so great about the song is that it walks the line between being fiercely empowering as well as having an element of humor in it. It's a great song to sing and I'm glad I have been able be part of it : )
