Dierks Bentley and Elle King Release 'Different for Girls' Video

(Radio.com) Dierks Bentley's newest album Black contains not one but two big female features in the form of Elle King and rising star Maren Morris. On Wednesday (July 20), listeners were treated to the music video for one of those duets. Bentley and King debuted "Different for Girls," a video examining how men and women deal with a breakup.

Shot in black and white to give the video an added somber tone, "Different for Girls" finds Bentley playing a guitar and King playing a banjo while singing together. The video cuts between their performance and the video's narrative, which follows a man and woman after their split. The man heads to the bar where he starts pounding drinks and looking for a hookup while the women finds solace in her friends. "Different for Girls" lightly criticizes the emotionally restrained way men go about dealing with their feelings.

"It's different for girls when their hearts get broke/ They can't tape it back together with a whiskey and coke/ They don't take someone home and act like it's nothing/ They can't just switch it off every time they feel something," Bentley and King sing together on the chorus.

Things reach a powerful crescendo by the video's end when the man and woman switch places, and he ends up sad in bed (where she started) while she ends up at a bar celebrating with friends. Watch the video here.
