Dierks Bentley and Maren Morris Duet At Red Rocks

(Radio.com) During the first night of his two night appearance at Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Colorado, Dierks Bentley invited Maren Morris onstage to perform their duet "I'll Be the Moon."

The song appears on his most recent album Black, but their performance at Red Rocks marked the first time listeners were treated to a live version of it. "This is unbelievable," Bentley told the crowd by way of introduction. "This person flew from Boston to be here, and she is one of my favorite singers."

Bentley went on to explain how they first linked up. He texted Morris about singing on "I'll Be the Moon" once he'd finished writing it, and he couldn't stop praising her "cool" behavior in a city like Nashville, where bigger egos normally prevail. According to Bentley, they talked on the phone about recording together and then she showed up solo at the studio instead of trailing a big entourage.

Morris is currently opening for Keith Urban's RipCord World Tour, but seeing her take a brief break and fly out to Colorado to join Bentley just reinforces her cool girl demeanor.

The two performed the mournful, understated song with minimal instrumentation. Watch the pair here.
