Singled Out: Faminehill's Torn

Hungarian metalcore band Faminehill are preparing to release their debut album "Ascend" on April 5th. To celebrate we asked vocalist Tamas Stefan to tell us about the single and video "Torn". Here is the story:

When I wrote the lyrics for "Torn" I had just been through a pretty tough time at that point of my life. Things were getting together but I always felt guilt for some other people. I was torn between doing things the way I wanted, to achieve my happiness and the goals that I am striving towards whilst making other people feel bad, or sacrificing my dreams so people around me wouldn't get hurt or be upset by the way I do things.

I was really fed up at the time and hesitated for so long in order to keep a balance, but I came to terms with the idea that I had to do my thing and forget about others. It was hard for a while but now I feel relieved. Hopefully the listener can find something and adapt in some way to the lyrics if they are faced with a hard decision.

"Torn" is about realising the fact that no matter how others blame you or try to take away your happiness, you have to keep pushing and fight for your purpose.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
