David Bowie's Musical Set To Open In The UK This Fall

(Radio.com) One of David Bowie's last artistic ventures, his musical, Lazarus, is set to open in the UK this fall reported NME. Bowie talked about writing musicals and plays back in 2000.

"When I was a teenager I had it in my mind that I would be a creator of musicals for the West End and Broadway, and people would do my songs," he told K broadcaster, journalist and author Jeremy Paxman.

The live show, which opened in New York late last year, is based on Bowie's 1976 film The Man Who Fell To Earth, in which Bowie played the genius extra-terrestrial Thomas Newton.

The New York production, co-written with Irish playwright Enda Walsh and directed by Belgian director Ivo van Hove, starred Dexter and Six Feet Under actor Michael C. Hall. Read more here.
