Massive Pink Floyd Box Set Features 20 Unreleased Songs

(hennemusic) Pink Floyd will release a comprehensive 27-disc box set this fall covering the first seven years of the band's legendary history. Due November 11, "The Early Years 1965-1972" will present 7 individual book-style packages and feature 130 tracks, accounting for more than 12 hours of music and 15 hours of video.

The package will contain TV recordings, BBC Sessions, outtakes and demos and more than 20 unreleased songs - including 7 hours of previously unreleased live audio and more than 5 hours of rare concert footage.

Pink Floyd were formed when the founding trio of bassist Roger Waters, drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Rick Wright were augmented by original guitarist Syd Barrett. David Gilmour joined the band shortly before Barrett's departure in early 1968.

"The Early Years 1965-1972" will give collectors the opportunity to hear the evolution of the band and witness their part in cultural revolutions from their earliest recordings and studio sessions to the years prior to the release of "The Dark Side Of The Moon", one of the biggest selling albums of all time.
