Adele Believes Smoking Helped Her Sing (A Top Story)

On Tuesday Adele Believes Smoking Helped Her Sing was a top story. Here is the recap: (Radio.com) Adele said during a recent appearance on the Canadian entertainment program etalk that she believes that quitting smoking actually weakened her singing voice.

She was on the program promoting her current North American tour. It's been five years since she quit, but it sounds as though she would take up the habit again if she could. "The people with the best voices, they always smoke," she said. "I've given up smoking and I'm convinced that's made my voice weaker."

In 2011, Adele suffered a vocal hemorrhage and had to cancel her world tour so she could undergo laser surgery to remove a polyp. Since then, she's taken measures to cut down on food and behaviors that could potentially strain and hurt her voice.

Of course, it doesn't help when she works with artists who happen to smoke. Adele recounted recording "All I Ask" with Bruno Mars for her latest album 25. "Bruno smokes like an old woman," she said. Read more - here.
