The xx Announce New Album And Stream First Single

(Radio.com) It's been four years since British indie pop band The xx released a new album, and now they've announced they'll be back in January 2017 with their third studio album I See You. The group also shared the album's first single "Hold On."

Two years ago, they reported they would be leaving their native London to record in Marfa, Texas, but it turns out that was only the beginning of the album's journey. I See You ended up going on a much longer trek to get to fans. The xx recorded it over two years in New York, Marfa, Reykjavik, Los Angeles, and London. Jamie xx and Rodaidh McDonald produced (via Pitchfork).

The band tweeted a hopeful message in the wake of the 2016 presidential election. "We know these are uncertain times and we hope the joy & love we found making the record will get out into the world, in however small a way," they wrote. Read more here.
