(Radio.com) Kevin Gates has been sentenced to 180 days at Polk County Jail in Florida after being found guilty on Wednesday (Oct. 26) of battery, after kicking a fan at a concert in August 2015.
During a hearing, the victim, Miranda Dixon, testified to tugging on Gates' pants at his show in Lakeland, Florida. "I was trying to get his attention for my friend," she said. After the second time she pulled on his pants, the rapper kicked her with force, she said.
The head of security at Rumors Nightclub, where the incident took place also testified. Joe Hailey said that while there were 20 security guards working at the concert, there was enough room on the stage for Gates to back up if he wished to not be touched during his performance.
