Ghost Make Chart History With 'Popestar'

(hennemusic) Swedish rockers Ghost have made US chart history with their newly-released EP, "Popestar", which has become first EP to land at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums in the chart's 10-year history.

Billboard reports the project sold 21,000 copies in its opening week. Led by the lone original track and lead single "Square Hammer", the package includes covers of songs originally recorded by Eurythmics, Echo & The Bunnymen, Simian Mobile Disco and Imperiet.

"Popestar" also starts as Ghost's second No. 1 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, following 2013's "Infestissumam." "Square Hammer" enters multiple Billboard charts, including Hard Rock Digital Song Sales at No, 7 (3,000 downloads sold), where it's Ghost's first entry. Read more here.
