Talking Heads Frontman David Byrne Announces Solo Tour

(Gibson) Former Talking Heads leader David Byrne has announced a handful of concert dates for next spring. A post on Byrne's website says the performances will feature many "familiar" songs (presumably Talking Heads material), as well as songs from a soon-to-be-announced new solo album.

The tour will be Byrne's first solo trek since 2009, although the singer did hit the road with St. Vincent for a 2012 - 2013 tour. After the 2018 North American run is completed, Byrne will play several festivals in South America and Europe.

Just six shows in the U.S. have been announced thus far - all in the Northeast - but the post on Byrne's website hints that more may be added. The veteran singer also said the performances will extend beyond the typical rock concert.

"I'm excited," he wrote. "This is the most ambitious show I've done since the shows that were filmed for 'Stop Making Sense,' so fingers crossed." See the dates here.
