(hennemusic) Deep Purple have cancelled a pair of shows in Sweden this week due to illness. The band was scheduled to perform at Grna Lund in Stockholm on June 14 and Liseberg in Gothenburg on June 15 but both venues have posted cancellations due to "health issues."
No official statement has been issued by Deep Purple at press time. The 2016 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees are currently playing dates across Europe as part of a summer tour. The group are scheduled to perform next in Horsens, Denmark on June 17.
Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey recently shared an update on the band's new album. The group have spent the past few months working with legendary producer Bob Ezrin, who oversaw 2013's "Now What?!"
"As far as I know, it's all recorded and now," Airey told Russian news agency TASS. "It's on the tender mercies of Bob Ezrin, he's going to mix it. I haven't been given a release date, I know nothing about that as yet." See the venue tweets about the cancelations here.
