Twenty One Pilots' Next Album Will Be More Confident

(TeamRock Radio) Twenty One Pilots' Tyler Joseph believes the duo's fifth album will demonstrate more confidence in songwriting. And he doesn't feel under the same amount of strain he felt while writing for fourth album Blurryface, released last year.

They've just released a video for latest piece Heathens, which appears on the soundtrack for the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. Joseph tells AltPress: "I feel a greatest sense of freedom and less pressure. I felt a lot more pressure going from Vessel to Blurryface."

He thinks the success of their last record means it'll be easier to resist the arguments of industry execs who might want to impose "their formula."

He adds: "I feel so much confidence that I can look at myself and say, 'I know what we're making is for a group of people out there that want to hear it.' That's all the confidence I need."

But while the songwriting is set to improve, he says that he and bandmate Josh Dun will remain focused on the subject matters that have inspired them in the past.

"I'm not saying the songs will sound confident - I'm saying the song structures will," Joseph reports, adding that his reason for writing remains "to say things that I felt I couldn't say in a regular context."

He continues: "I'm looking forward to what an even more confident Twenty One Pilots record sounds like." Watch the new video here.
