(Radio.com) There are all sorts of symbols associated with gay pride, but Adam Lambert may soon start a new fad thanks to the fresh ink he recently got. The pop star got a new tattoo on his flank, which he showed off on Instagram earlier this week (October 3).
The black and white design features the head of Antinous, the Greek youth who was a lover of Emperor Hadrian way way back in the day aka circa 120 B.C.
Lambert posted on Instagram, "(look him up)" after sharing the name behind the design. After Antinous' death at only 29 years old, Hadrian deified him and he has since become synonymous with homosexuality in Western culture. Lambert's tattoo, therefore, is a proud symbol of his sexuality's heritage, one that moves past more traditional symbols like the rainbow flag. Check it out here.
