(Radio.com) Dave Matthews headlined a benefit concert on Sunday in Washington, D.C. During his set, Matthews, accompanied by longtime collaborator and friend Tim Reynolds, performed several of his hits but he also used the occasion to play two new songs.
Matthews performed "Samurai Cop," which the Dave Matthews Band have been performing live while touring this year, along with a brand new song called "Billijo."
Before beginning the quiet song, Matthews shared his experience visiting Standing Rock. "The whole experience at the camp exploded my brain and I don't know what to do about it," he said.
"A cold wind blows over North Dakota/ Billijo says 'This is my fire/ Come warm yourself by my fire,'" Matthews sings in the quiet opening, which earns cheers and applause from the reverent crowd. An audience member captured the song's debut, watch it here.
