(IOL) Executives at Warner Music Group have lashed back at Linkin Park's bid to free themselves from their contract, insisting their managers have stirred up the stand-off by concocting "fictitious numbers."

The rockers announced they're seeking immediate release from their contract with Warner Music, claiming new deals are geared towards making investors rich and not benefitting the artists.

But executives insist the group is being misled by management.

In a statement to music magazine Rolling Stone, a Warners spokesman says: "The band's management is using fictitious numbers and making baseless charges and inflammatory threats in what is clearly a negotiating tactic. [see full story for more] - Click here for the Full Story
