Released in March 2008 in the U.S. through Secret City Records, Plants and Animals' debut album, "Parc Avenue," has grown amongst fans and critics alike as one of the best albums of 2008. In July, Pitchfork spotlighted the album in their "Overlooked Records of 2008" list. Other notable influential fans include NPR's All Songs Considered, KEXP/Seattle, Myspace, Magnet, Under the Radar, Brooklyn Vegan, and WERS/Boston.
This summer, Gnarles Barkley's Danger Mouse personally asked the band to open for them. In August, Plants and Animals played with The National and Yeasayer in NYC's Central Park. Rapidly gaining a reputation for their fervent live shows, Montreal's Plants and Animals have also shared bills in America with The Whigs (February 2008), with Wolf Parade (August 2007), with Rock Plaza Central (May 2008), plus many caught the band during their 3 sets during the 2008 SXSW.

Now, the classic YES line-up of guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White will launch the "In The Present" tour starting November 4th in Hamilton, Ontario, marking yet another chapter in the art-rockers' amazing, 40-year career of legendary live performances.
The three will be joined by keyboardist Oliver Wakeman, the son of YES' Rick Wakeman, and vocalist Benoit David, a Montreal, Quebec, native and vocalist in several YES tribute groups, who was discovered by the band on the Internet.
