Bury Your Dead Ready To Record New Album
Lambgoat reports: Bury Your Dead will enter the studio next month to begin recording their next album for Victory Records. Here's an update from guitar player Brendan "Slim" MacDonald:

"So we have been busier than hell the last 4 months since that time we decided to flip our van into a ditch and go on tour a week later. Anyways, we are finishing up writing for our next Victory release as we speak. To be honest, this record has been a long time coming we have been on the label for 5 years released 4 records and this is it.

"I say it every time we go into the studio: "this is the best thing ever that we have ever written ever and it's meaningful because and ever and stuff," but let's be honest; this year for us hasn't been anything short of a ----ty coin toss. Between the awesome tours and heading overseas twice there were a fair amount of remedial bull---- to have to get over, and I promise you will hear about most of it some how or another on the record. - more on this story

Classic Thin Lizzy Show Being Released
PR reports: VH1 Classic Records is proud to announce the March 3, 2009 release of Still Dangerous: Live At The Tower Theater Philadelphia 1977. This newly discovered live album, featuring the quintessential Thin Lizzy lineupPhil Lynott, lead vocals/bass; Scott Gorham, guitar; Brian Robertson, guitar; Brian Downey, drumsshowcases the band at the height of its prodigious powers.

Thin Lizzy roared out of the 1969 Dublin, Ireland pub scene. Their sound was crystallized in the 1976 anthem "The Boys Are Back In Town." With Lynott's intricate wordplay and those two lead guitarists, a template for '70s hard rock was cast in stone. In 1978, they released Live And Dangerous, thought to be one of the all-time great live rock albums.

Seen as a companion volume, the new live album contains two songs not found on Live And Dangerous: "Soldier Of Fortune" and "Opium Trail," alongside such Lynott-authored classics as "Dancing In The Moonlight," "Jailbreak" and "Don't Believe A Word." This long lost concert CD pulled legendary producer Glyn Johns (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones) out of retirement to remix and remaster.

Sarah Brightman's PBS Special Getting Retail Release
PR reports: Due to overwhelming demand by her devoted fans, Manhattan Records will make a CD/DVD of Sarah Brightman's PBS special Symphony - Live in Vienna, available at retail for the first time on March 10, 2009.

The package features the best-selling British soprano's spine-tingling performance at Vienna's magnificent Stephansdome Cathedral on January 16th, 2008, in both audio and visual formats. The Symphony - Live in Vienna television special debuted on PBS in March 2008 during the network's spring pledge drive and aired throughout the month.

Brightman chose one of Europe's most majestic settings for this milestone concert event. Consecrated in 1147, Stephansdom Cathedral is renowned for its awe-inspiring Gothic architecture, which, along with the production's lavish light show, lends a dramatic and mystical feel to the musical proceedings, which were recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound. - more on this story

The Everyday Visuals Set Release
PR reports: The Everyday Visuals are set to release their third DIY full-length and self-titled tour de force April 14, 2009. The disc will be available at CD Baby, and digitally at outlets including iTunes and eMusic. With a sound reminiscent of Wilco, The Beach Boys, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and REM, The Everyday Visuals have created huge success for themselves locally and are ready to take the rest of the world by storm.

Led by Christopher Pappas (songwriter/guitars/vocals) who is accompanied by Joe Seiders (drums/vocals), Kyle Fredrickson (lead guitar) and Eli Scheer (guitars/keyboards/vocals), the regional notoriety that the band's first two albums have brought them has been outstanding. And the band was able to accomplish it all without label support. "The things that we've worked for haven't come easy," reflects Pappas. "We haven't been 'discovered' by a label, we haven't 'met the right people' all we've done over the years is honed our talent and voices and just plugged along, doing what we've done. I feel like we're the Bad News Bears in a sense." - more on this story

. Bruce Springsteen Month: Working on a Dream (new album)
Many of the songs on the album feel as if they're on the runway ready to take off, but get called back to the gate never taking flight. This doesn't make them bad songs, but merely unfinished ones. It feels as if these were first drafts and they were recorded as such. (2.5 stars) - Read the full Bruce Springsteen Month: Working on a Dream (new album) review

. Causes 1
It always brings a sigh of relief to find a benefit album with music just as serious as its cause. And Causes 1 on Waxploitation is just such a found jewel. There are 14 different artists represented, and not one of them is placed on the CD for commercial bait. (3.5 stars) - Read the full Causes 1 review
