Kenny Chesney Debuts New Video Online
PR reports: MySpace Music is excited to announce the exclusive premiere of country superstar Kenny Chesney's new video "Out Last Night." Beginning Friday, May 1, fans may view the music video in its entirety from Chesney's highly anticipated Greatest Hits Vol. 2.

The album is set for release May 19 on BNA Records. According to Chesney, the idea behind the "Out Last Night" lyrics was inspired by a real night out with co-writer Brett James. The music video captures that feeling.

"This is a first for me and makes me feel like I'm putting my video right in the fans' hands," said Kenny Chesney. "What could be better than going straight to the people who are living these songs?"

Little Richard's Warners Catalog Getting Released on CD At Last
conqueroo reports: Little Richard is well known as one of rock 'n' roll's great originators. His run of hits on Specialty Records between 1955-58 brought legendary hits like "Tutti Frutti," "Long Tall Sally," "Slippin' and Slidin'," "Rip It Up," "Lucille," "Jenny Jenny," "Keep A-Knockin'," and "Good Golly Miss Molly." At the end of the run, he opted for the sacred over the profane, emerging as a minister and recording gospel music on Atlantic, Mercury and Vee-Jay. Little Richard's music was introduced to a new generation by The Beatles' cover of "Long Tall Sally." And in 1970, as '50s rock 'n' roll enjoyed a revival of interest, Richard was signed to Warner Bros.'s Reprise label by Mo Ostin.

His three-album stint at Reprise created three excellent if commercially unaccepted albums: 1970's The Rill Thing (from which Richard turned out a mid-chart hit with "Freedom Blues"), King of Rock and Roll in 1971 and The Second Coming in 1972. The albums demonstrate his incredible range, from '50s style rock 'n' roll to soul, funk and rock music of the day. The three long-players will be released on CD in their original form for the first time by Collectors' Choice Music on June 23, 2009. Music historian Gene Sculatti, author of the Catalog of Cool, contributed liner notes.

As Little Richard said at the time of The Rill Thing's release: "I believe (the older people) will accept me for my sincerity and my contribution to rock 'n' roll. But the young people are going to buy it because they want to hear the truth." - more on this story

Gama Bomb One Off With Anvil
The Caps Lock Key Is Like Crack To Us Records reports: Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB, who recently completed a tour of Europe with thrash legends OVERKILL and EXODUS on the Killfest tour, have announced a one-off special show supporting Canadian legends ANVIL in Dublin.

GAMA BOMB vocalist PHILLY BYRNE comments: "We're pretty stoked to be supporting Anvil in Dublin. It's not only a good chance to play to people who'd never normally come to the dank, dark places we play in, but it's also going to be cool to share the stage with real-life thrash metal comeback kids. Plus it's in Dublin, which is our natural habitat. Hopefully we can show them the best bars in town, and the best gutters to lie in afterward."

Icons Among Us: Jazz In The Present Tense
PR reports: The Documentary Channel's exclusive U.S. television premiere of the four-part documentary series "Icons Among Us: jazz in the present tense," concludes on Monday, May 11th at 9 p.m. ET/PT with the final episode "Everything Everywhere." The series celebrates the world of contemporary jazz music and its influence on some of today's brightest jazz artists.

The fourth "Icons" episode covers "Everything Everywhere." The origins of jazz are mysterious; its journey less so. African rhythms finding western instruments. Folk music of the Caribbean drifting north into the brackish waters of New Orleans, mingling with the blues, Native American spirit, and the individualistic impulse of restless democracy. The transmission of this enigmatic but eminently humane art form to the world and to the youth who live in the epicenters of its origins and lifeblood are the focus of the final episode. Courtney Pine and Richard Bona weigh in with incredible stories evoking the penetration of jazz DNA into the body of world music. Terence Blanchard, Stanton Moore, Roy Hargrove, Charlie Hunter, Donald Harrison and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band bring viewers home to New Orleans, a damaged but luminous vessel that still embodies a musical culture unique to the world.

DOC is available on DISH Network (Channel 197), and several broadcast stations in major markets including NYC TV (Channel 25) throughout the greater New York metropolitan area.
