Living Sacrifice Delayed
PR reports: As previously announced, Living Sacrifice are back with their brand new album, "The Infinite Order," their first release since reforming in 2008. The release has been moved from November 3 to January 26, 2010 on Solid State Records. This will be the band's seventh studio album.

Powerful, forthright, thrashy and skillfully executed as ever, the album serves as an unapologetic reminder as to exactly why so many of today's heavy music leaders hold Living Sacrifice and in such high-esteem.

As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis sums it up best, "You can hear Living Sacrifice's legacy in the entire generation of bands who've come after them. And those bands still haven't caught up." - more on this story

Overkill Reissues
MMP reports: Overkill is one of the few groups that helped create the sheer definition of thrash metal. Starting from 1985, this living legend has so far released fifteen studio albums, which easily places them among the most consistent and die-hard thrash bands in the entire history of the genre. This exclusive re-releases of Overkill's albums "Wrecking Everything", "Killbox 13" and "ReliXIV" bring back the best that thrash metal has to offer

All three albums will be re-released in a new digipak edition each limited to 1000 copies. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process, released on a golden disc. The release date is scheduled for 2nd November.

"Wrecking Everything" Overkill's second live album was released on June 18th, 2002. Recorded during the band's performance at The Paramount in Asbury Park, New Jersey on March 22nd, 2002, this offering delivers over 70 minutes of pure thrash metal annihilation by the living legend of the genre. The 13 tracks included on the CD feature one of the most amazing productions in the history of live albums. The sound quality is easily comparable to studio albums, but the immerse amount of energy makes this release even better, reflecting the true nature of Overkill's music. The track list has been prepared very carefully none of the songs is repeated from the band's first live effort, "Wrecking Your Neck" from 1995. Overkill made sure that the choice of material satisfies both new and old fans.

Waylon Jennings Revisited
conqueroo reports: Waylon Jennings is the recognized father of the Outlaw movement of country, a rebel against the Nashville establishment whose recordings blended honky-tonk, rock 'n' roll and folk in a way virtually nobody else was doing at the time. Collectors' Choice has chosen six of Jennings' many RCA long-players from 1966-'70 and will release them as three twofer CDs: Folk Country/Waylon Sings Ol' Harlan, Love of the Common People/Hangin' On and Waylon/Singer of Sad Songs. The CDs will hit the streets on November 24, 2009. Grammy Award-winning annotator/historian Colin Escott wrote the liner notes.

In the 1950s, Jennings was a Lubbock DJ and fledgling singer whose first record was produced by Buddy Holly (Jennings briefly played bass for Holly, and gave up his airplane seat to the Big Bopper before the ill-fated flight that took the lives of the Bopper, Holly and Richie Valens).

In 1963 Jennings, then living in Phoenix, signed to A&M for one LP that went nowhere, and was advised by Bobby Bare, for whom he'd co-written a hit, that Nashville was the place to be. So when RCA Nashville A&R head/producer Chet Atkins invited Jennings to sign, he jumped at the chance: "I started out for Nashville in a yellow Cadillac with a yellow-haired woman."

Spleen United To Play Suburbia
PR reports: Having already conquered their Scandinavian homeland, Danish electro-rock fivesome Spleen United are heading to the States for a series of shows timed with the release of first single, "Suburbia," on October 13. The propulsive track, built over a simple synth line and hypnotic dance beat, has already begun to receive early support at radio, including influential tastemaker Jason Bentley on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic," as well as others. This single and forthcoming full-length, Neanderthal, due in January, will be released on producer Michael Patterson's (She Wants Revenge, Beck, BRMC) founded label, popantipop records.

The band will introduce America to their electrifying sound at a handful of shows in Los Angeles starting October 13 before heading to New York for CMJ.

Spleen United (a nod to French modernist poet Baudelaire) comes to these shores decorated with a slew of Danish music awards and #1 hits. With a live show that is simply explosive, as witnessed by more than 50,000 fans at last year's Roskilde Festival (Denmark's premiere annual festival), the Danes color their performances with pulsating lights and a booming sound that is equally at home in rock venues, dance clubs or arenas. Subbing guitar and bass for synthesizers, Spleen inject a bounce into their melodious rock songs, which occasionally veer into atmospheric grooves before climaxing in a burst of raw energy magnified tenfold on stage. - more on this story

Mr. Mom of Rock N Roll
Submitted News reports: Arthur Nasson should be exhausted. The Boston Boy Wonder of Music is also a Mr. Mom of Rock N Roll, consistently creating an abundance of amazing music, all within his domestic environment and with a unique DIY approach.

The multi-instrumentalist recently simultaneously released his fourth and fifth albums, "False Prophets" and "Life After Telescopes," on his own Philistine Records. The former is a low-fi retro rock piece that is "Lush, Beatle-esque" (Boston Globe), and the latter is a more obscure and experimental work.

Why deliberately extend to each end of the spectrum you may ask? "There are two radically different approaches and mindsets going on," notes Nasson. "The Rock recordings explore structured song form, lyrically and musically. The Experimental recordings are where sounds take on their own logic and form, where harmonic centers may exist but aren't always the point. A place where listening experiences become more open and adhere less to expectations." - more on this story

Benevolent Tomorrow Makes a Short Play for Long Play
PR reports: Los Angeles based Benevolent Tomorrow was signed with Long Play Records for the release of their upcoming self-titled EP, which was produced by Erik Ron (Sparta, Guns N' Roses, Foxy Shazam).

"We're excited to share our new album with everyone," says frontman Benjamin Bensadoun. "The music scene in LA is hollow and missing its soul. I want to rip these drones out of their comfort zones and bring them back into a world where being at a show meant something. Rock concerts used to be places for people to be themselves and take a break from the expectations that were placed on them at work or home. Now I look around me at a show and people are texting or talking to their friends and enjoying the music has become secondary. We want to try and bring back that camaraderie and the excitement that live shows have."

Benevolent Tomorrow have created a buzz throughout the California scene with their mixture of classic rock, grunge and '90s pop punk. The band's eclectic mixture has earned them comparisons to classic modern rock giants like Foo Fighters and Stone Temple Pilots, as well as current chart topers like Shinedown.
