The PRP reports: Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta recently gave an update on his new collaborative project with members of Crowbar and Seemless, here's what he had to say: "Right now I am up in Mass at Planet Z studios with Kirk from Crowbar recording an album for our new band together. Zeuss is producing and Derek from Seemless is playing drums on the album. All I can say right now is that the material is definitely the heaviest and most diverse stuff I have ever been a part of and I seriously can't wait for people to hear this. Kirk is singing with me as well as playing the bass and guitar on the album and we have both been writing and bringing ideas to the table. It's been killer! Used Queen
punkbands reports: When My Chemical Romance and the Used collaborated earlier this year on a version of Queen and David Bowie's 1982 hit "Under Pressure," they had no idea they'd wind up inspiring Queen's label to kick-start a long-discussed Queen tribute album. Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen comes out Tuesday and features 16 artists from a variety of genres, including R&B, pop, rock, punk, alternative and metal. Highlights include Jason Mraz doing "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy," Shinedown tackling "Tie Your Mother Down," Joss Stone taking on "Under Pressure," Sum 41 nailing "Killer Queen," and "American Idol" contestant Constantine Maroulis and the Flaming Lips performing radically different versions of "Bohemian Rhapsody."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

What The Hell Was That?
Special Ops reports: What The Hell Was That? – The Funk Anthology, a stunning new double-disc anthology from the multi-talented musician, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, will be available September 6th from Shout! Factory. As a collection of some of the most important recordings from Watson’s dynamic and influential career, issued nearly 10 years after his death, The Funk Anthology includes the addition of six never-before-heard tracks.

Musical prodigy and obsessively prolific, Johnny “Guitar” Watson set the blues world afire early in his career with his blistering, searing guitar, but caught fans off guard when he took time out to dabble in jazz, and then outright stunned them when he turned to raw funk. His career played like a soundtrack to the evolution of American soul music, brilliant and more exciting with every turn it took. When he died in the midst of a worldwide comeback tour in 1996, Watson left behind nearly 40 years of considerable work, and a legacy that has endured to this day.
