Once again a major corp is going to reinforce the ghetto of music culture by tailoring the LIVE 8 DVD per country.
The DVD has the capacity for the whole world to sell a 6 or even 8 disc box set with all the best material from ALL the shows around the world. An 8 disc DVD box set takes up no more physical space than 2 VHS tapes in cardboard packets. I live in Manchester UK but shall be using my sat-dish to view the Rome concert. Being indepthly familiar with many bands and artists in Italy and other countries I can tell you that there are so many great acts that are kept locked out of the English speaking countries. While even our worst acts get automatic access to other countries media. The ghetto-isation of both the TV transmissions and DVD plans of LIVE 8 is hardly going to give anyone an informed sense of worldly brotherhood.
