(CMJ) On Monday night, the Capitol in Washington, DC turned into an outdoor venue when SaveNetRadio, a coalition to stop the July 15 ruling of the Copyright Royalty Board's (CRB) royalty increase on all Internet radio stations, held an open-air concert. In support of the Internet Radio Equality Act, hundreds of people gathered at the steps of the United States Senate to watch 10 performances by artists ranging from Christian and folk to hard rock. Among them were Michael Yugo, Nadir, Mother Jones Band and Rome In A Day. Jay Inslee and Donald Manzullo, the two Congressmen who introduced the legislation, which would vacate the CRB's ruling and set a royalty rate at the same level of satellite radio, also addressed the crowd.
