Funeral Party Become Fearless
PR reports: Funeral Party, a four-piece electro-rock band from East Los Angeles, signs to Fearless Records today.

With appearances on Indie 103.1, Southern California largest commercial indie music station, and support from college radio, Funeral Party began carving their way into the Los Angeles music scene. Bob Becker, President / A&R at Fearless Records, signed the band after hearing their demos which were recorded by Lars Stralfors at the Mars Volta's rehersal/studio space in Los Angeles. "We are excited to have Funeral Party join our label," says Bob. "They write amazing songs and have the live show to back it up."

PR reports: After many years of waiting, Reek Of Putrefaction, the seminal gory debut album from British grindcore/death metal legends Carcass has been reissued and is available again in Europe!

The genre-defining 1988 debut album, Reek Of Putrefaction shocked the metal world upon its original release, from its controversial cover art to the sickening lyrics. Available once again after many years out of print, Reek Of Putrefaction is the fourth of the five CARCASS albums to be reissued and is out now as a limited edition DualDisc (combined CD and DVD) housed in a deluxe digipak with extra artwork. It includes 13 unreleased bonus tracks from the Flesh Ripping Sonic Torment demo, along with part 1 of a mini-documentary series entitled The Pathologist's Report as bonus video material, all specially packaged in a white medical bag which conceals the shocking original cover art. - more on this story

An Album For the iPod Generation?
PR reports: Team Genius constructed their debut album specifically for the iPod generation, managing to channel both Prince and Magnetic Fields along the way. First single "Take Me Home" is a falsetto lovers dream. The self titled effort will be released on October 7th, 2008.

"I have been trying to go with my whims… fuck it, let's make an iPod album." This statement from Team Genius leader Drew Hermiller was the jumping off point in the creation of the band's debut full-length -- one of the most interesting and eclectic pop records of the year.

"Basically it's a reaction to the modern way music is consumed and listened to," Drew says of the disc. "The idea of an album with a focused sound and a complete statement kind of gets lost now-a-days. Everyone shuffles around, so I thought 'why not write an album that does the same thing?' Luckily, the band did an awesome job of keeping up with it." - more on this story
