(antiMusic) One member of Congress has called the American Idol voting process into question. North Carolina Representative Howard Coble (R) thinks his constituent Chris Daughtry (of McLeansville) was robbed of the Idol title. Like a good politician, he bases his judgment on "online polls, fan blogs, numerous websites and general talk around town". He admits that he doesn't know the pop music business, "most people know that my musical tastes run more towards bluegrass," however he makes it clear, "But I do know politics," he said in the Congressional Record. "With no disrespect intended toward this year's winner, Taylor Hicks, most people think this year's American Idol should have been Chris Daughtry… while I will not call for Congress to investigate this Idol election process, those of us who reside in the 6th District of North Carolina will always be convinced that our guy really won - sort of like fans of Al Gore in 2000." Coble already represents one Idol winner, Fantasia Barrino (now known as just Fantasia) who hails from High Point.

Maybe if Chris had shown more personality and made more of an entertaining connection with the audience, along with some originality he may have gone farther in the competition. He should have been the runner up,but America got the winner right.
