Starting his musical career in 1953 James Brown rocketed to fame during the late fifties through his thrilling live performances and succession of smash hits. He continued to have hits in every decade through to the 1980's.
The Godfather of Soul is still as popular as he ever was. These two sensational shows capture him in his heyday, performing his biggest hits before appreciative audiences in the contrasting settings of New York's legendary nightspot Studio 54 recorded on 26th March 1980 and live at Chastain Park, Atlanta in 1985.
In recent years James Brown had staged an extraordinary career comeback by anyone's standards. Remarkable as his latest live performances were, despite his advancing years, James Brown was at the height of his considerable powers when the two sensational performances featured on this DVD were filmed.
