The gun was stolen from the Elvis After Dark museum in Memphis as fans marked the 30th anniversary of Presley's death. A janitor found the gun last Thursday while cleaning portable toilets but didn't realize that he possessed the King's gun.
The janitor, Travis Brookins, turned the gun over to police on Monday after hearing media reports about the theft. He reportedly planned to keep it but changed his mind when he learned that it once belonged to Elvis.
