Virtual Smashing Pumpkins Concert Set For This Weekend

The Smashing Pumpkins will be hosting a free virtual and interactive concert this weekend from their upcoming "The Aeroplane Flies High" CD/DVD release.

Fans will be able to check out the online concert for 24 hours on-demand, starting at 6:00PM PDT/9:00PM EDT on Saturday, July 20 on the band's Facebook page here.

The stream will be powered by Milyoni's #SocialVideo Platform which will offer fans the ability to connect with other viewers for an interactive experience featuring live chat and time-released Social Widgets, delivering exclusive images, trivia, polls and video clips that can be shared via social networks.

The stream will feature the fully re-mastered July 4, 1997 concert from Belfort, France, and the online event is to celebrate next Tuesday, July 23rd released of the deluxe reissues of the 1996 box set "The Aeroplane Flies High."

The new version of the box set will be released in four separate versions, all fully remastered. The configurations include a 6-CD +1 DVD version, a 5-LPs version plus Deluxe Digital and Standard Digital editions.
