The 1975 Release 'The Sound' Video
. Mirroring the pastel pink cover art for their new album, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, the video begins with the band playing a boxed-in stage accentuated by flamingo pink lights. Even though they perform to an empty room at first, a crowd eventually gathers to watch. Lead singer Matthew Healy looks around nervously, because the crowd turns out to be full of critics. In between the band's performance, title cards flash with criticisms about their music: "Is This a Joke?" reads one, while another asks, "Do People Really Still Make Music Like This?" It's 1975's way of taking control of their sound, their music and their image, all while having the last word about what they're doing. I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it dropped today, February 26th. Watch the video here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
