Diplo Says 'No One Thought' Justin Bieber Collaboration 'Would Work'
.
(Radio.com) Justin Bieber and Major Lazer have released their new single "Cold Water." Diplo, who is a writer on the track along with Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco, discussed the collaboration in an interview with Rolling Stone. "It was spontaneous, no one thought it would work," Diplo said about the decision to bring the track to Bieber. "The timing was perfect and when we approached Justin, he was also in love with the song we all had written," Diplo added in a press statement. " A fan of MO himself, Diplo raved about the young singer. "I felt like she was so ambiguous, having grown up singing pop and punk. Her word choice and her metaphors are just so foreign from American songwriters who tend to overuse the same phrases," he told Rolling Stone. Read more and listen to "Cold Water" here.
