Maren Morris Goes R&B With 'No Diggity' Cover
.
(Radio.com) Maron Morris may be country's next big talent, but she's not limited to that genre altogether. On Instagram, she shared a clip from a live show where she got to display her R&B flavor. In the video, Morris performs the classic mid-1990s jam "No Diggity" by Blackstreet. Her killer vocal range lends a tad of rock to the cover as she goes for long sustained notes. She wrote about the experience, "Got to live out my 90s baby R&B dreams last night. Couldn't have done it without my badass bandmates." Morris isn't the only country artist to appreciate R&B. Little Big Town announced on May 24 that Pharrell would be producing their new album Wanderlust. Since the lines between contemporary country and R&B continue to be a bit blurry, perhaps this won't be the last time we see Morris stretching her range and going for a different style. Morris' new album Hero drops June 3. Watch the cover performance here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com. |
