Darin and Brooke Aldridge - Faster and Farther

.
With the speedy and very spiritually-attuned "Kingdom Come" and the gospel number "Fit for a King" opening the latest from this bluegrass duo, you might get the idea that this is a full set of gospel bluegrass. It is not, but Brooke Aldridge's singing sure takes the listener to church. With a voice that's clear as a bell, Aldridge always imparts a sense of honesty and faith; whether she's singing about love and wanderlust on Ian Tyson's "Someday Soon" or harmonizing with Vince Gill on "Mountains in Mississippi," she gives the impression that she's lived the life she's portraying in song.

And while Aldridge's vocals are the most spotlighted treasure here, husband Darin is no slouch either, and he handles lead vocals on the tender and sad "Eugene and Diane" while leading the band through various styles of bluegrass and country that's flawlessly picked on guitar, banjo, mandolin, Dobro, acoustic bass and fiddle.
