Robben Ford To Deliver Truth Next Week.
antiMusic reports: Robben Ford has set the release date for his new album and plans to launch a tour in support of the effort. The new album, entitled Truth, will be released on August 7, 2007 by Concord Records. Here is a press release about the release: The blues will never die is an axiom proven over and over again, but it does change shape. Robben Ford's latest Concord Records release, Truth presents blues as they are today: in a powerful setting only a master veteran like Ford could envision.

"The blues have always been socio-political," says Ford. In the opening song "Lateral Climb," he addresses the 9 to 5 grind, credit card debt, and the political frustrations we all experience. "Peace on My Mind" was inspired by Willie Dixon's "It Don't Make Sense, You Can't Make Peace," which Ford describes as an anti-war song without being too preachy. "If you're pointing the finger, no one wants to hear it. It's a portrait rather than a sermon. The truths I describe are self evident."- more on this story

Leroy Powell Digital
PR reports: California native, LEROY POWELL will bring his old-time-country-and-blues-with-a-little-bit-of-old-school-rock-thrown-in-for-good-measure sound, to a digital player near you with the release of his self-titled solo debut album LEROY POWELL on July 31 on all major digital music service providers.

Best known as lead guitarist for the SHOOTER JENNINGS' BAND, the .357's, LEROY finally made the time to record his own album in 2006. The 11 song album features the single "Keep the Diamond", "I Go To Extremes" and "Vacation." Notably, the video for "Keep the Diamond" was co-directed by actress GINA GERSHON and ROBIN DAVEY of the band The Bastard Fairies.

Described in a recent interview by Guitar Player Magazine as having, "half his riffs smell like beer and honky-tonks, while the other half sound like redneck cousins of Led Zeppelin," POWELL combined the many musical influences he's been surrounded by over the years to create an, "honest, tell it like it is" album that will appeal to both his fans from Shooter as well as new ones. - Check out the Keep the Diamond video here
