Madonna Using Divorce Rumors To Sell Tickets?
TMZ reports: Never forget -- Madonna is the master at using the media to her advantage, and the current are-they-or-aren't-they divorcing drams is no different. Now we're hearing Guy and Madge's peeps have been planning this for months, hoping the hubbub will sell more tickets to her upcoming tour.

Well-placed sources tell us the Ritchies plan to officially split in November or December -- after the Mrs.' upcoming "Sticky and Sweet" world tour. Why? Big bucks. The concerts are expected to earn close to $300 mil worldwide, and they've decided to ear mark that to provide for their three children's future.

And it gets better ... There is a whole PR strategy that has been in place for some time. We're told the Material Girl will be "very visible" in the months leading up to the tour to "generate a lot of publicity." That's when "news" of the marriage's demise would slowly leak out, causing tongues to wag -- and Madonna to be on the cover of papers and mags around the world. - more on this story

The Most Depressing Album Ever
conqueroo reports: Jake La Botz has fared well professionally this year, with a significant acting role as a "singing redneck mercenary" in Sylvester Stallone's recent blockbuster Rambo film. But some personal struggles led him to record what he deems "the most depressing album ever," titled Sing This to Yourself and Other Suggestions for a Personal Apocalypse. The album, which he describes as "11 sordid tales of human misery and redemption," is due out on Charnel Ground Records on August 2, 2008.

August 2 doubles as the date La Botz will go on the road for this third annual five-week "Tattoo Across America Tour" of tattoo parlors, which will hit big cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Phoenix and San Diego, as well as smaller burgs like Longview, Texas, where Jake has established a fan base from his annual appearances. (In fact, it was in Longview that he received a tattoo of a raven at a cemetery across the street from the Garage Art Studio parlor.)

"It's so much more interesting this way," he says. "Playing tattoo parlors, you can be who you really are and relate directly with your fans. There are no dressing rooms, no backstage, nowhere to hide. In a way, this is an evolution of my roots playing the streets and subways of my native Chicago. It keeps it real."

Music Fest Crowds Like Apes That Haven't Eaten A Banana In A Week
Sleazeroxx reports: Rock legend Meat Loaf has vowed never to play at another "stupid" English music festival, because the crowds are too rowdy.

The Bat Out of Hell hit-maker once took to the stage of one U.K. festival with fellow American rockers Jefferson Starship, but he was left so unimpressed by the audience's behavior, he has refused to return ever since. And he insists performing at more historic venues - like the 17th century Castle Howard in York, north east England - is much more pleasurable.

He says, "We played with Jefferson (Starship) at one of those stupid English festivals, and I do call them stupid because people behave like apes who haven't eaten a banana in a week. - more on this story

ZZ Top The Charts
PR reports: This week ZZ Top's Live From Texas in concert DVD debuts at #1 in Billboard's Top Music DVD chart. It simultaneously holds the same position on the Canadian Music DVD chart as well. Initial orders in both countries more than qualify the release for RIAA (US) and CRIA (Canada) gold certification. Live From Texas had #1 debuts in both France and Sweden as the band embarked on its first European tour in six years.

The release from Eagle Rock Entertainment was launched with huge fanfare in the band's Houston home base late last month with a massive launch part at The Hard Rock Houston followed by a ZZ Top Day ceremony at City Hall. Houston Mayor Bill White hosted the band there for a news conference and slyly declared, "ZZ Top can't stop rockin', that's a big part of why Houston is so proud to call these sharp dressed men its very own."

Not resting on their laurels after almost 40 years of performing and recording, the band immediately departed for Europe where they are now in the midst of a three week whirlwind tour that includes an even dozen festival and concert performances in seven countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Monaco. A number of the venues hosting the band have audience capacities in excess of 40,000.

A scant ten days after the completion of the European tour, the band embarks on a six-week North American tour co-billed with Brooks & Dunn. - more on this story

Rock Against Diabetes Moving to Bigger Venue
PR reports: Rock Against Diabetes has already outgrown itself. With an overwhelming response from many of the fans of participating bands, Rock Against Diabetes have realized that the August 23rd, 2008 festival style show needed a larger venue with more amenities for the fans.

"With the number of people wanting to attend in person, and the amount of time these people are going to be my guests, I felt the need to have top of the line services for food, beverage and other facilities for the fans and the acts" said organizer and founder Darrin Buchanan when asked why the move is happening.

"The guys over at Deep Rock Drive also understood that the show was becoming much too large to keep in their venue, with everyone being comfortable and properly attended to." Deep Rock Drive has already refunded all online viewing ticket holders their money back as a new solution is set up to have the concert streamed live on the Internet. - more on this story
