The album deals with Jay Z's alleged infidelity, and calls out "Becky" as his mistress. Fingers, and the BeyHive, pointed to fashion designer Rachel Roy, after she posted an Instagram with the caption "Good hair, don't care." The post was subsequently deleted, and Roy gave People Magazine and an official statement denying that she is Becky. "I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest," she said. "My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that," she said. "There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally.
