(Peta) Setting aside time during a recent tour stop in PETA's hometown of Norfolk, Va., Canadian indie-rock twin-sister team Tegan and Sara stopped by PETA headquarters to shoot a brand-new print anti-fur public service announcement (PSA) for peta2, PETA's youth division. In the PSA, Tegan and Sarawho are still riding high from the success of their latest album, So Jealous (Sanctuary Group Records/Vapor)are shown with Liby, the adopted canine companion of a PETA staffer, next to the tagline "If you wouldn't wear your dog, please don't wear any fur." The PSA goes on to explain that when it comes to feeling pain, there's no difference between "man's best friend" and animals killed for their skins.

"I do feel like there are alternatives to killing animals for foods and materials," says Sara, who also strongly opposes factory farming and its devastating impact on animals, the environment, and human health. "I don't wear fur myself."

"We just have no idea why anyone would want to wear fur," adds Tegan. "I don't think fur looks very good on people. I think it's really unattractive, and it's ridiculous. I don't think the fur industry has a chance. I have the feeling that young people today are intelligent enough."
