Rocker Killed in Hit and Run
antiMusic reports: Dallas Ryan Cook from the band Suburban Legends was killed in a hit and run accident on Wednesday morning on an Orange County California freeway. 

The Orange County Register reports that Cook, 23, was riding a black Honda CB570 at 12:25 a.m. in the car-pool lane on the Costa Mesa Freeway just north of MacArthur Boulevard and hit a dark-colored Hyundai that was blocking the car-pool lane.

Cook was thrown from his motorcycle and was struck multiple times by oncoming cars, according the CHP. He died on the scene and the driver of Hyundai fled. The CHP are looking for the dark-colored Hyundai which should have rear or side damage. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call (714) 567-6000.

Bush Bono II
Reuters reports: Bono may not have had to sing for his meal, but the U2 rocker had the ear of President George W. Bush over lunch on Wednesday. 

In town to perform a concert, Bono was invited to the White House residence to follow up on discussions he and Bush had at the Group of Eight summit in Gleneagles, Scotland, in July, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Blur EP
Gigwise reports: Damon Albarn has revealed the first tentative details of the new Blur EP set for release before the end of 2005.

Albarn described the new material as "aggressively laid back" and explained that there won't be a lot of coverage around the release.

Coldplay Winners
Ananova reports: Coldplay and James Blunt were the big winners at this year's Digital Music Awards.

Blunt scooped the award for Best Pop Act at the ceremony beating Goldfrapp, KT Tunstall, Natasha Bedingfield and Turin Brakes to the gong.

iPod Tax
music.tinfoil reports: C|Net is telling us that Apple is expanding its iPod tax to manufacturers who make devices that connect to the "dock connector" of the iPod. In the past, a tax has been paid for a device to wear a "Made for iPod" label, but this is reportedly a new thing. The new tax is allegedly 10% of the wholesale price of the device, steep indeed. Soul Asylum Return
Billboard reports: Soul Asylum is nearing the release of its first new studio album in seven years, Billboard.com has learned.
