with end stage kidney failure, the result of a congenital birth defect.
Says Smyth: " I have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and have
been advised to preserve my health as much as possible at this time, as
I am facing "complete renal failure" within six months, and ultimately,
a transplant. Due to my recently diagnosed condition, I have decided not

and be able to give them a show I know I can deliver night after night.

Final
Johnny Cash Recordings |
Press Release reports: In the months leading
up to his passing on September 12, 2003, JOHNNY CASH had been recording
new material with producer Rick Rubin. On July 4, 2006, "American V: A
Hundred Highways," the all-new Johnny Cash album taken from those sessions,
will be released on the American Recordings label through Lost Highway.
It will include the last song Cash ever wrote.
Cash and Rubin began recording the songs
that would find their way onto "American V: A Hundred Highways" in 2002,
specifically on the day after they finished "American IV: The Man Comes
Around" which was released that November. Johnny feared that "American
IV" might be his last release, so Rubin suggested that he immediately begin
writing and recording new material. Over the next eight months, songs were
cut at Rubin's Los Angeles studio and in Nashville at Johnny's main home
and at his fabled cabin located across the road. Due to Cash's frail health,
Rubin arranged for an engineer and guitar players to always be on call
for the days that Cash felt strong enough to work.[see full story for more]-

antiMusic reports: North American Creeps listen
up, Radiohead is coming. That's right the Brits are going to make their

AMC couldn't afford em. ) The fun kicks off on June 1st in Philly at the
Tower Theatre and concludes on June 30th in Los Angeles. Additionally lucky
creeps in Boston, the afore mentioned Canadian cities, NYC, Chicago, Peoples
Republic of Berkeley and San Diego will have a chance to see them. (note:

Piracy
worse than child porn |
Inquirer reports: THE NEW look Digital Millenium
Copyright Act (DMCA) seems to be giving the world an unusual moral code....
It appears that the DMCA will have a maximum sentence of ten years inside
for the crime of software and music piracy. It will also give the FBI the
powers to wiretap suspected pirates.... assaulting a police officer will
get you five years, downloading child porn will get you seven years, assaulting
without a weapon will get you ten years and aggravated assault six years.
So in other words if you copy a Disney
CD and sell it you will be in the same league as a paedophile who is distributing
pictures of sexual attacks on children. [the Feds can't control the border
but they want to wiretap DVD and CD pirates? see full story for more on

for the band GREAT WHITE, will be sentenced next week to serve up to 10
years in prison for igniting the pyrotechnics that sparked the deadly 2003
fire at The Station nightclub in West Warwick. He pleaded guilty in February
