Madonna Adoption in Jeopardy
PR reports: Madonna's plans to adopt the third world hit a speed bump after a Malawian official was denied permission to travel to the UK to check up on the baby the Material Girl adopted last October.

BBC reports that "social worker Penstone Kilembe who is director of Malawi's child welfare services, was appointed by the High Court of Malawi to oversee the child's welfare and report to the court and the ministry at least twice. But he said the Malawian government had stopped the visits, telling Reuters "The whole adoption process may crumble and David [may be] sent back to his village."

According to the BBC report "Madonna was granted an 18-month interim custody order, which enabled her to take one-year-old David Banda out of Malawi last October."- Read the full BBC report

Clutch Leave DRT
Metal Underground reports: CLUTCH frontman Neil Fallon has revealed to ChartAttack.com that the band has parted ways with DRT Entertainment and is currently without a record label. Fallon refers to the band as "free agents," but seeing that CLUTCH have gone down the major label road before (1998's "The Elephant Riders" appeared on Columbia and 2001's "Pure Rock Fury" was released on Atlantic), don't expect them to do it again.

"Their business models are so antiquated," Fallon said. "It would make sense if we were a platinum band, but we're not even pushing gold records.

"We make our money selling T-shirts on the road. We'll do whatever makes the most sense. That doesn't necessarily mean the biggest check, it just means the most honest business relationship."- more on this story

Deadstring Brothers Climb The Silver Mountain in Rocktober
PR reports: Bloodshot Records Announces The New Album By Deadstring Brothers Silver Mountain In Stores October 9, 2007

When the Detroit-based Deadstring Brothers released their critically-acclaimed U.S. debut, Starving Winter Report, in the winter of 2006, they took to the road, touring with sidemen on steel guitar while seeking a permanent collaborator with a shared vision. They found what they were looking for in London, where the Heavy Load club scene was packing in rock-and-roll fans who danced all night to bands like The Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes and The Allman Brothers. A bona-fide scene had developed that continues to grow today, where young players seeking kindred souls to play blues and country-tinged rock come together.- more on this story

Sly Hits
PR reports: Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Sly & The Family Stone with the release of Greatest Hits on August 28th. The final entry in the 40th anniversary restoration campaign of the great album discography of the first golden decade of Sly & The Family Stone which kicked off with the spring release of the expanded editions of their seven original studio albums on Epic Records (1967-1974) now comes full circle as Greatest Hits arrives in stores Aug 28th on Epic/Legacy, a division of SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT.

With no new studio album shaping up for Sly in the crucial year-end tonnage, the creation of Greatest Hits quickly took on a life of its own that fall. The track choices were virtually pre-ordained every one of Sly & The Family Stone's ten sides that made the pop and R&B charts were on the menu, plus "Fun" (from Life) and "You Can Make It If You Try" (from Stand!), one of the Woodstock favorites.- tracklisting

Schoolyard Heroes Plan to Destroy Emo
PR reports: Schoolyard Heroes are NOT for the faint at heart. They're a far cry from the guyliner-smudged, wallowing-in-self-pity emo bands you've been drowned by for the past two years. "We need to go out and destroy everything that is wrong with music right now" announces towering bassist Jonah Bergman. Schoolyard Heroes aren't here to save the day, but, as he describes, they "would like to f*ck sh*t up" with their new album Abominations out on Stolen Transmission on September 18.

This fall, Schoolyard Heroes arrive fully charged and armed with an album to blow your brains out of your ears. Brace yourself for their mighty ST debut, Abominations. Produced by John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, The Gossip, Bikini Kill,) the record is both an ambitious and impressive attempt at capturing the horrific parts of human nature with a heavy apocalyptic theme soaking each song like a bloody stain.- more on this story

Roseland in November
PR reports: Roseland, the new self-titled debut album from Tyler Bates and Azam Ali, will be released November 13. Roseland is the union between virtuoso singer and songsmith Azam Ali and accomplished film composer/producer Tyler Bates. Juxtaposing ambient electronic textures with intoxicating vocal melodies and driving hypnotic rhythms, Roseland's music is the expression of a truly unique artistic collaboration.

The two artists diverse backgrounds aided in creating this cd with its lush atmospheric aural landscape analogous to a dark, insightful film stirring many contradicting emotions like pain, bliss, sorrow, anger and surrender. While their music has been compared to Cocteau Twins and Siouxsie and the Banshees meets Led Zeppelin, no likeness conveys the cinematic essence of Azam's haunting voice and evocative lyrics that reflect the sorrows of war, self-doubt, and the personal experiences and relationships which shape and mold our psyches.- more on this story

Eulogies Set 9/11 Release
PR reports: Eulogies was formed cruising along the roads of America in a late-model maroon Dodge van. On that tour, Peter Walker (then a solo artist) fused together with his backing musicians over the course of 30 shows in 40 days. They became a band in any one of a hundred truck stops, dozens of late nights in motel rooms, in between telephone busy signals and botched driving directions, at sound checks and in dressing rooms.

Upon returning to Los Angeles, the trio hit the studio with co-producer Hrishikesh Hirway (The One AM Radio) with mixing handled by John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, Nada Surf). The ten songs they recorded will be available this September on their self-titled debut album.

- Get a preview of the album with the "One Man" MP3.

ChthoniC To Support Cradle of Filth
PR reports: Taiwanese act ChthoniC -- the first-ever Asian extreme metal act invited to tour with Ozzfest -- has been tapped to support the legendary Cradle of Filth at four intimate September shows. These will be the final concerts of the band's first North American tour, and the conclusion of the first leg of their "UNlimited Tour". "It's our pleasure to tour with Cradle of Filth," says vocalist Freddy Lim. "They are one of the bands who inspired us to write this kind of music."

ChthoniC (pronounced "THON-ick") took a detour from Ozzfest last week in order to travel to Germany, where the group performed at Wacken Open Air, the country's largest annual heavy metal festival. They rejoined Ozzfest in St. Louis on Aug. 6, the first in a stretch of 25 shows in 25 days that also includes a dozen "off-fest" shows alongside Nile.
