Allman Brothers' Butch Trucks Reportedly Committed Suicide

(hennemusic) The death of 69-year old legendary Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks at his home in West Palm Beach on January 24 was allegedly a suicide, according to media reports about the police records.

The Miami Herald reports the records show Trucks shot himself in the head with a pistol as his wife of 25 years - painter Melinda Trucks - stood near him and witnessed the incident in their downtown condo.

The media outlet has reviewed the transcripts of a frantic 911 call Melinda made to West Palm Beach Police about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, telling the dispatcher her "husband just shot himself" with a pistol.

The drummer was still breathing when police arrived at the residence but passed away on site soon after. The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy Wednesday, but the results won't be known for weeks.

The Daily Mail suggests financial problems may have been a possible motive for Trucks to end his life. Read more here.

Tame Impala Offshoot Pond Release Video and Announce Album

The band features Tame Impala member Jay Watson and former member Nicholas Allbrook. They previously shared the new songs '30000 MEGATONS," and 'Sweep Me Off My Feet." And now they're debuting the video for the latter.

Allbrook explained what to expect from the record. 'It's a concept album, not completely about Perth, but focusing on all the weird contradictory things that make up a lot of colonial cities around the world," he said in a press release. "Laying out all the dark things underneath the shimmering exterior of cranes, development, money and white privilege. It's not our place, but it is our place. British, but Australian, but not REAL Australian. On the edge of the world with a hell of a lot of f***ed things defining our little city, still we try and live a wholesome respectful life, while being inherently disrespectful. At the end of all this confusion in our weird little white antipodean world, there's the beach, purity and nature that brings us all together." Watch the video and read more here.
