The final two comes as a surprise to some Idol waters, many expected it to be a showdown between Barrino and La Toya London, but London was voted off the show last week in a vote that had some conspiracy theorist working overtime.
Now Barrino, the 19-year-old single mother, is the odds on favorite to win. Her soulfly vocals, as well as her ability to take chances with various genres of music, have won her praise from the judges throughout the competition.
However, the bubbly 16-year-old, Diana DeGarmo will not hand the competition to Barrino. She has won over some critics during the season as they watched her grow as a vocalist each week and win over the live audiences with her up-beat personality.
So who will win? We will have to
wait for the finale to see who is officially crowned the new American
Idol, but both should win in the end if last season showed anything. The
final two last year, winner Rubin Studdard and runner-up Clay Aiken both
landed lucrative recording contracts and won over fans off the tele and
on the charts.
