Out of all the pre-Lilith Fair female singer/songwriters, Suzanne Vega has had the most influence. Her surprisingly profound 1985 self-titled debut and its shockingly good Solitude Standing followup have oftentimes been quoted as setting the stage, so to speak, for all who followed in her considerable wake. Her legions of fans are diehard, with an almost fanatical tinge. Accompanied by full band, this 18-track 70-minute set, originally released last October, showcases her artistry, her unerring compositional prowess and her under-stated showmanship. Special Features: Three tracks-"Small Blue Thing," "Room Off The Street" and "Knight Moves"-from her 2000 Montreux performance.
