.
(PR) The inaugural Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 21 & 22, 2006, at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground at 2601 Sunfair Road, which is nestled just outside The Joshua Tree national park in the high desert of the Mojave Desert. This family-friendly music festival is a fundraiser for fire disaster relief from the recent Sawtooth Millard fires. 100% of profits will be donated locally. The event is organized by the producers of the annual Joshua Tree Music Festival.

The venue for the festival is a beautiful privately owned campground with sweeping views of the National Park and a backdrop of the Copper Mountains. The festival will present a continuous array of music, primarily roots, folk, Americana, and bluegrass, on two alternating stages. The line-up so far includes: DAVE ALVIN & THE GUILY MEN, RAILROAD EARTH, THE DITTY BOPS, ANNE MCCUE, TRAMPLED BY TURTLES, TIM EASTON, BLUE TURTLE SEDUCTION, GREENSKY BLUEGRASS, the BLUEHOUSE, KEN WILL MORTON, THRIFT STORE ALL STARS (high desert collective featuring Victoria Williams and Tim Easton among others), WALLY INGRAM & TOM FREUND, TISHAMINGO, and The BINGO DREAM BAND. More artists to be announced. Check the website for updates.
