This track was our response to what we saw and experienced on our first trip to the gulf in 2005. We had the honor of visiting and playing for US troops fighting in Iraq at the time. We were extremely moved by the stories that we heard that the song just came poring out at the next rehearsal. We instantly felt part of such a great family that we had to give something back, a "thank you" if you will. A tip of the hat. The song, though originally only intended to be given away as a free download to our troops through the USO Myspace page, has opened doors to new opportunities for us to help. We teamed up with the IAVA (Iraq, Afghanistan Veterans Of America) in the "This Is For The Soldiers" campaign. The campaign's to raise awareness to some of the wrongs being done by the U.S. government to our returning troops.
WWW.THISISFORTHESOLDIERS.ORG is a website where anyone can learn about what they can do to let our troops out there know we care and we haven't forgotten them. I'm thankful that we did the song and the fact that Mikes upbeat pattern on the song slays is icing.. - visit thisisforthesoldiers.org
