Winehouse has made headlines lately after a series of concert cancellations and a trip to the hospital, which fueled speculation that she has a serious drug problem and that the hospital trip wasn't for exhaustion but for an overdose. Now her mother-in-law tells a tabloid that Winehouse admitted a few weeks ago that she's using heavy narcotics.
Georgette Civil told the Daily Mirror that she had a heart to heart a few weeks ago with Winehouse, who is married to her son Blake Fielder-Civil. "Its the hardest thing in the world for me to say in public that my son and his wife have a drug problem," she told the British magazine. I know my son had a drug problem ever since he was 20 and moved to London. I needed to know about Amys problems and we had a chat just the two of us. She told me she was addicted to heroin and cocaine.
NME reports that " Amy Winehouse is currently in the Causeway drug rehab centre in Essex, casting doubt on whether Winehouse will perform this weekend's V Festival (August 18 and 19) as scheduled."
